*Jermaine Jackson has announced plans to create a museum on the French Riviera to display Michael Jackson’s personal art collection, though the exact location on the Côte d’Azur has not yet been finalized.
According to Monaco Life, the collection has been stored in a secure Washington, D.C. facility for years. It includes approximately 120 works valued at $1.6 billion and has never been publicly exhibited. During his appearance at the Monégasque Christmas Gala on December 3, Jermaine described how the exhibition will create an immersive environment: visitors will hear live narration about each piece while a DJ plays classic Jackson 5 tracks and Michael’s solo recordings. “15 seconds of looking back to ’87, we go back into the narrative music that tells a story all the way up to when we first started,” he said.
“We would like to do things a bit differently rather than just have a museum. We would like to create a show at the same time,” Jackson added.

The works reflect important chapters in the Jackson family’s history and range across styles from impressionism to surrealism. Highlights include two portraits of Marilyn Monroe that bear the signatures of both Michael Jackson and Andy Warhol, with one previously appraised at $160 million in 2021. The collections also boast commissioned portraits of the White House and various U.S. Presidents originally ordered by Ronald Reagan, Michael’s unique interpretations of Disney characters, and the “Treasures Collections” series honoring individuals who influenced the King of Pop, according to Monaco Life.
“Exhibitions for me should be different. I would like to narrate the paintings and tell a story,” Jermaine said, noting that a companion art book featuring the complete holding, more than 200 pieces in total, is in development.
For Jermaine, the project carries profound family significance. “It’s all about legacy and who we are as a family,” he stated. Jackson stressed that none of the artworks will be offered for sale.
The museum will also present a separate series of paintings he co-created with an Iranian artist that chronicle his own life journey.
