*Hulu has released the captivating official trailer for its upcoming limited series “Washington Black,” a tale of adventure and self-discovery starring and executive produced by Sterling K. Brown. The eight-episode series is set to premiere on July 23, streaming exclusively on Hulu in the United States and Disney+ worldwide.
Adapted from Esi Edugyan’s acclaimed novel, “Washington Black” chronicles the extraordinary journey of George Washington “Wash” Black, an eleven-year-old boy born into the brutal realities of a Barbados sugar plantation in the 19th century. Wash’s remarkable scientific intellect sparks an unforeseen path, propelling him into a global odyssey. A traumatic event forces him to escape, launching a transformative quest that redefines his notions of freedom, love, and family. As Wash confronts daunting challenges across uncharted territories, he dares to envision a life unbound by the oppressive constraints of his past.

The series boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Ernest Kingsley Jr., Rupert Graves, Iola Evans, Edward Bluemel, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Eddie Karanja, Tom Ellis, and Sterling K. Brown. Behind the scenes, the production is helmed by 20th Television Production, in collaboration with Indian Meadows Productions and The Gotham Group.

The show is executive produced by a talented team, including Selwyn Seyfu Hinds, Kimberly Ann Harrison, Sterling K.
