Authorities discovered Girlalala wounded inside a vehicle, and the hairstylist was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office reports that Girlalala and Whyte had been arguing inside his car when the confrontation escalated from verbal to physical.
According to arrest documents, Whyte told investigators that the dispute began “because Girlalala pulled his hair.” He acknowledged producing his firearm during the altercation but refused to elaborate further. Whyte placed the 911 call after the shooting and was immediately arrested at the scene. He is facing first-degree murder with a firearm charges.
Whyte and Girlalala had been involved romantically for “several years,” the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said.

Services for Girlalala are scheduled for early December in Pompano Beach, Florida. The influencer’s father’s decisions regarding burial arrangements have ignited public debate. He announced two separate events: a public viewing on Friday, December 5, and a private family funeral the following day.
In a widely circulated video, the grieving father explained his position regarding how his child will be presented at each service. “Can’t even bury my son in peace,” he stated, SandraRose.com reports. “Y’all want to put the man in a wig! I ain’t letting no preacher stand over – ain’t no ordained, anointed preacher gon’ do that – stand over the man and preach in the wigs. Stop it! Y’all doing this for the show! Y’all ain’t worried about my son’s soul.”
He offered a compromise to honor both the Girlalala’s public persona and his own beliefs. “Please, I ask y’all to have Friday. I’ma give the world Girlala – whatever y’all want. Girlalala – I don’t know him as that. I ain’t taking that from his followers, his crowd, none of that,” he said. “Y’all can have that. Put him in a wig. The viewing is open for the public! Come see him. I ain’t taking that opportunity from y’all. None of his followers, likes, none of that!”
For Saturday’s funeral service, he has different plans. “The funeral Saturday, put my son in a Pop Smoke braids with a sharp tape or afro for the last time,” he requested, referencing the late rapper. His final statement was unequivocal: “I ain’t attending no funeral with my son – that God gave to me as a boy – in no wig!”
A GoFundMe has been launched for funeral expenses.
