Grammy-Winning Talent Headlines the Stage
This year’s lineup features an impressive mix of jazz, soul, and contemporary artists, led by five-time Grammy Award-winning vocalist Dianne Reeves, known for standout recordings like “I Got It Bad (and That Ain’t Good)” and “Quiet After the Storm.”
Joining her is ten-time Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, a Kennedy Center Honoree and recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom from former President Barack Obama.
Also taking the stage:
- Grammy-winning bassist Trevor Ware & The Positive People featuring jazz vocalist Sidney Jacobs

The festival will span two stages and feature additional performances throughout the day, blending traditional jazz with modern sounds and emerging talent.

Hosts, Legacy, and Cultural Impact
The event will be hosted by radio personality Pat Prescott and comedian Jay Lamont, adding energy and personality to the daylong celebration.
Co-produced by Rainbow Promotions—known for the Long Beach and San Diego Jazz Festivals—the event continues to grow as a cultural staple in Southern California.
At its core, the festival reflects the mission of the Mervyn M. Dymally African American Political & Economic Institute, which works to document and advance the legacy of African American leadership, public policy, and economic development.
Led by Executive Director Dr. Anthony A. Samad, the Institute supports leadership training programs, including the Dymally Fellows Program and initiatives for high school students and entrepreneurs, while producing culturally relevant events that highlight the global influence of the African Diaspora.
More Than Music
Beyond the performances, the Dymally Jazz & Arts Festival serves as a platform for education, community engagement, and cultural preservation—bringing together students, residents, and leaders in a shared space rooted in history and forward-thinking impact.
