*DirecTV is raising prices for subscribers amid the blackout of Disney channels, including ESPN, SEC Network, NatGeo, Freeform, and Disney Channel, after the companies failed to reach a new distribution agreement by the September 1 deadline.
Starting October 6, 2024, prices for DirecTV’s satellite TV and streaming services will increase, Variety reports. The DirecTV Stream Choice plan will rise by $6 to $114.99/month, while the DirecTV Stream Ultimate package will go up $10 to $129.99/month. Prices for Satellite TV packages will also increase.
DirecTV is offering a one-time $20 credit to compensate for the loss of Disney channels and a $30 credit for customers who sign up for Dish Network’s Sling Orange or Fubo streaming services.
Customers who have already claimed the $20 credit can receive an additional $10 if they take advantage of the Sling or Fubo offer.
Customers will see the new pricing in their next billing cycle.

“We’re adjusting the price of your television package in order to remain competitive in the marketplace, while still delivering the best possible programming,” the company told customers in the notice.
“TV networks are continuing to increase the fees they charge DirecTV for the right to distribute the content they produce, including movies, shows, and sporting events. We remain steadfast in our commitment to bring you the best programming at a fair and reasonable price.”
