*Deion Sanders, head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, underwent a medical procedure on Tuesday to address blood clots, a recurring issue that has plagued him since 2021, according to ESPN.
As we reported earlier, following a 35-21 defeat to TCU on Saturday, Sanders shared his discomfort, noting, “I think I’ve got more blood clots. It don’t make sense. I’m hurting like crazy.” He remains hopeful, stating during a news conference, “I cannot wait to get past this hurdle.”
He emphasized the hereditary nature of his condition, clarifying, “It has nothing to do with me working at the level I’m trying to compete at.” Sanders, who has faced significant health battles, including the amputation of two toes in 2021 and bladder cancer treatment over the summer, expressed unwavering faith, saying, “I trust God with all my heart and all my soul and all my mind.”

Sanders dismissed the notion that his workload contributed to his condition, stating, “There’s nothing that I could’ve done to stop what’s transpiring. Nothing that I could’ve taken or something that I’m just not abiding by. It is what it is.”
Doctors attribute Sanders’ recurring issues to peripheral artery disease, which blocks blood flow to tissues and can cause severe pain and tissue damage. “I’ve got a lot of well-wishes, of people talking about: ‘You need to slow down. You need to take a break,'” Sanders said.
Meanwhile, the university has accommodated his needs, providing a portable sideline bathroom due to his ongoing bladder cancer treatment. Sanders remains optimistic, declaring, “I’m going to be all right.”
