The “Shark Tank” investor spoke on “TMZ Live” about how Sin City’s hotels and casinos could position themselves to attract more visitors. He pointed to rising costs as a major drag on visitation and said a less-welcoming perception of the United States is contributing to a decline in international tourists.
John also noted cultural shifts among younger travelers, including reduced alcohol consumption, which dampens the appeal of a city built around nightlife and big entertainment moments.

Despite these challenges, John remains hopeful about Las Vegas’ recovery. He pointed out that recent moves, such as reducing hotel rates and eliminating resort fees, should make the city more accessible and attractive to travelers.
John also sees the 2026 World Cup as a key opportunity. While Las Vegas won’t host any matches, the tournament, which will take place in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada, is expected to draw large numbers of visitors to America, creating a chance for local hotels and casinos to encourage travelers to extend their trips and spend time on the Strip.
