*Apple TV will debut “Twisted Yoga,” a three-part docuseries examining Romanian tantric yoga guru Gregorian Bivolaru and his controversial organization, the Movement for Spiritual Integration into the Absolute (MISA).
According to the news release, “Twisted Yoga” follows a group of young yoga students from around the world who are drawn to the ancient practice seeking inner peace and personal growth. They soon find themselves under the influence of Bivolaru, a reclusive Romanian guru and leader of an international network of yoga studios specializing in tantric rituals. As doubts grow, the students begin to fear they have become part of a cult, uncovering troubling details about Bivolaru’s past. Allegations against him in France include human trafficking, kidnapping, and rape, claims he denies, while some former students are collaborating with French authorities to pursue justice.
“Twisted Yoga” is produced for Apple TV by two-time Academy Award winner Simon Chinn, Emmy Award winner Jonathan Chinn, Suzanne Lavery, and Bernadette Higgins. The series is directed by Rowan Deacon, known for “Jimmy Savile: A British Horror Story” and “How to Die: Simon’s Choice,” and is set to premiere globally on March 13, 2026. Watch the trailer above.
