*A recent Harris/Axios Vibes poll underscores ongoing worries about grocery prices for American families. It found that 47% of surveyed adults view food shopping as tougher to handle than a year earlier, while 34% see no difference, and 19% find it more manageable, according to The Hill.
The survey also touched on larger economic perceptions. Exactly 47% of participants credited President Trump’s administration with boosting the economy positively. Additionally, roughly 80% of respondents acknowledged that Trump wields “significant influence” on economic matters.

Responding to the results, the White House emphasized anti-inflation measures. “President Trump recognizes he inherited the worst inflation crisis in a generation from Joe Biden, and that is why he has tasked his admin with fixing it. Grocery prices are coming down, such as egg prices, which have plummeted by nearly 80 percent, and we recognize there is more work to be done,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated to Axios.
Concerns over tariffs also emerged in the poll results. Less than a third of Americans believed the president’s tariffs help businesses, individual wallets, or overall growth. On the flip side, 63% expressed fears of supply disruptions for vital items due to these import duties.
Researchers polled from September 11 to 13, interviewing 2,093 adults nationwide, with results carrying a ±2.4% margin of error.
