*Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is making it clear that he prefers to keep his distance from both religion and politics, even as he promotes a film rooted in spiritual history.
While appearing at a recent screening for “Moses the Black,” the rapper and producer emphasized that the movie should be approached primarily as entertainment rather than a statement of belief. Speaking directly to the audience, 50 Cent explained why he avoids those topics altogether. “There’s two things they tell you to stay away from. They tell you to stay away from religion and stay away from politics, because no matter what you think, someone passionately disagrees with you.” He added bluntly, “I stay away from those things. That’s how Kanye f***ed up.”
The remarks referenced Kanye West’s public embrace of religious gatherings known as Sunday Services in 2019, followed by his launch of a presidential campaign the next year. 50 Cent also alluded to recent headlines involving Nicki Minaj, saying, “Then Nicki said some s*** …” His comment came amid Minaj’s praise of President Donald Trump over threats of action in Nigeria related to the persecution of Christians.
