Comedian Luenell Criticizes Wendy Williams’ Conservatorship | Watch

*Comedian Luenell has spoken out against Wendy Williams‘ conservatorship, describing her court-appointed legal guardian as “the devil” and calling for Wendy’s freedom.

This comes after Wendy publicly likened her situation to prison and accused her conservator, Sabrina Morrissey, of mistreatment. Luenell argued that Williams wasn’t harming anyone before the conservatorship was imposed in 2022, and she believes reuniting the former talk show host with her family, pets, and belongings would aid her healing as she battles frontotemporal dementia.

Luenell expressed frustration that she has no way to contact Wendy, whom she credits with helping her career, and she fully supports her friend’s fight for independence.

“I don’t care about the conservator. They’re the devil. And they need to let Wendy come back and get with her family. Free Wendy!” Luenell told TMZ in the clip above.

We reported earlier that Williams is allegedly facing grave health challenges as court documents reveal the extent of her battle with early-onset dementia. The filing, submitted by her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, asserts that she has become “cognitively impaired and permanently incapacitated” due to her condition.

Williams was diagnosed with both aphasia and dementia in May 2023, marking a decline after she was placed under legal guardianship due to her health complications. Speaking to “The Breakfast Club” in a new interview, Wendy denied her guardian’s claim of cognitive impairment and described her conservatorship experience as “emotional abuse.”

“I am not cognitively impaired, you know what I’m saying? But I feel like I’m in prison,” Williams said. “I’m in this place where the people are in their 90s and their 80s, and 70s … There’s something wrong with these people here on this floor.”

Wendy’s family and friends have launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $50,000 to help her return to Florida and regain independence amid her conservatorship.

The fundraiser titled “Support Wendy Williams’ Fight for Independence” states: “A GoFundMe fundraiser is being urgently organized to assist Wendy Williams’ family in expediting her return to her rightful home in Florida.”

It continues, “For far too long, Wendy has faced the challenges of being unjustly placed under guardianship and labeled as incapacitated, despite her strong will and determination to live her life independently.”

According to the campaign, Wendy’s isolation in New York “has made it increasingly difficult for her to maintain her strength and resilience.”
