*Mattel honored late R&B icon Aaliyah on what would have been her 46th birthday by releasing a special edition Barbie doll.

Part of their Music Series, the $55 collector’s item, inspired by her “One in a Million” music video look, features a faux leather outfit reflecting her signature edgy elegance, Ice Cream Convos report. Mattel celebrated Aaliyah by highlighting her unique “street to sweet” style.

The doll, available first to Barbie Club 59 members and for a limited time at Target, sold out almost immediately. The official X page for the beloved songstress wrote: “One in a Million Today on Aaliyah’s birthday, Barbie honors the Princess of R&B’s unmatched legacy as a once-in-a-generation talent. The Aaliyah Barbie doll remembers her iconic style, keeping her influence alive across generations.”

Per Ice Cream Convos, the back of the doll’s packaging states: “To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Aaliyah’s debut album, Barbie pays homage to the ‘Princess of R&B.’ Affectionately known as ‘Baby Girl,’ Aaliyah pioneered a sound in a typically male-dominated genre that resonated with industry professionals and fans alike. Her legacy transcends music, fashion, and culture, and lives on today.”

Speaking with PEOPLE about the “incredible process,” behind the creation of the doll, Aaliyah’s brother, Rashad Haughton, said “[Aaliyah] was a rightist. She did things so they were right and they felt good. So she would be so happy of how the execution went down and that it looks so much like her.”

He added, “The universe sort of conspired to make this happen, at such a perfect time. I know for a fact that this was something that she had dreamed about since she was a little girl.”

Haughton and the design team chose the visual aesthetic of the “One in a Million” music video because of its potential impact on young girls.

“One thing that we wanted to do was make sure that it was her,” Haughton said of the doll’s outfit.

“‘One in a Million,’ it makes little girls feel special,” he explained. “It’s having a dream. It’s a beautiful song about love and having a special love. So all these different elements, just from a metaphorical standpoint, were perfect.”

According to reports, the Aaliyah Barbie will be available online or in stores by January 26th at Amazon US & UK, Walmart, and Target. The doll is available for purchase on the Mattel Shop.

“I can remember being a kid and seeing my sister play in her bedroom with Barbies,” Haughton recalled in his PEOPLE interview. “I think the number one thing that is really touching my heart about this, and is so magical, is knowing and seeing her play with those dolls, and dream, and then having, at such a young age, her career blossom and come to fruition.”

He continued, “I can see her playing with these dolls wherever she is right now, which I know is heaven and in a beautiful place. And she’s going to have a doll with her, and be doing all the dance moves from ‘One in a Million’ with it.”
