*Shannon Sharpe believes Beyoncé would not have the same impact on the NFL as Taylor Swift, who is dating Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Complex reports that the pop star has brought $331 million in value to the NFL since she started attending games to support her man.
During the latest episode of the Nightcap podcast, Sharpe and his co-host Chad Johnson debated over who has the most vital star power, Queen Bey or T. Swift.
Shape called Beyonce “Phenomenal” but said Swift is “a different animal.”
“The attention that she brings and the people, the eyes, that she brings that don’t even watch the game of football… it’s crazy what she’s been able to do for the NFL,” Johnson said.
“Beyoncé ain’t moving the needle like this chick, Ocho. No. No, you tripping, Ocho,” Sharpe clapped back, claiming Swift is “the closest thing to moving the needle like Michael Jackson that we’ve seen. This is it.”
That comment prompted Ochocinco to tell Sharpe to “reel it back in.”
“Beyoncé moves the needle just like Taylor,” Ochocinco replied. “Beyoncé has the same set of eyes. Young, old, middle-aged, and old, including I. Hypothetically speaking, Beyoncé would move the needle like Taylor doing.”
Sharpe disagreed. “Not like Taylor, man. Taylor Swift, I mean, she’s a different animal. And Beyoncé is phenomenal,” he said.
“The NFL can have anybody do halftime. I guarantee you Taylor Swift is first over Beyoncé and Jay-Z and Rihanna combined. That’s who they want,” Sharpe claimed. “I ain’t telling you what I heard; I tell you what I know. She turned them down. I ain’t telling you no hearsay; I’m telling you what I know. Stop playing, Ocho.”
