*As any couple, married or otherwise, will tell you, maintaining a stable union can take its toll at times. Savannah James, the wife of LeBron James, knows this well as she opened up about the challenges of being the King’s better half and raising their three children.
Chatting with Tamron Hall, Savannah responded when asked about comments she made to Harper’s Bazaar earlier this year about the need to prioritize her mental health.
“If I’m working from a glass half empty, I’m not good to anybody,” Savannah told Harper’s Bazaar. “We are maestros; we do a lot, and we need it sometimes.”
“You said, ‘If I’m working from a glass half empty, I’m not good to anybody.’ That, again, is a bold statement,” Hall told Savannah. “How did you cope with that feeling?”
“I think it was an acknowledgment, knowing that sometimes I felt depleted and I wasn’t being the best version of a mother, of myself … [to] my husband,” the 38-year-old spouse responded
“It was just hard to be fully present,” Savannah added. “So, I started to disappear. This was during COVID-19. My kids were good. He [LeBron] was … somewhere doing something, and I would disappear into my bathroom. I’d just take a bath or watch a makeup tutorial, which I love so much, or just take time for myself and do something that I enjoy and that I felt like filled my cup up.”
Savannah’s comments come amid longstanding rumors centered around LeBron cheating on her over the years. Chronicling the couple’s relationship, Sandra Rose noted that LeBron and Savannah met in high school in Ohio, with her becoming a teenage mother when their first son, Bronny, was born in 2004.
Talk of unfaithfulness isn’t limited to LeBron. Savannah herself was under the microscope in January 2024, when paparazzi photos came out online, capturing her and Clipse rapper Pusha T seemingly together in Paris, France, while LeBron was with kids at home in the U.S.
According to Sandra Rose, the pair were pictured together as they arrived in the same car for a late-night dinner at Paris’ Costes restaurant. At 3 a.m., they left the eatery in separate cars. Pusha T was seen rushing to his car, while Savannah casually strolled out behind him, dressed in black leather pants, a long purple coat, and a Chanel handbag.
The sighting came after Pusha claimed LeBron had an affair with Julieanna Goddard, a popular influencer who goes by the name YesJulz. Years after Pusha’s claims, YesJulz broke her silence, saying she worked in Miami as a party promoter when she and the NBA icon met.
Immortalizing the brief affair, Pusha put it in the Clipse’s song “Popular Demand,” which featured his brother and fellow Clipse group member No Malice as well as Cam’ron and Pharrell Williams.
Pusha’s lyrics on the track reads as follows:
Heard that she f***ing LeBron, but s**t, I don’t know
Like that, Bron-Bron? I had that long time ago
Butt-naked on the balcony at the Dolla-no
I mean the Delano, I mean, Pharrell’ll know
