*O.J. Simpson’s longtime attorney has changed his stance on payments to the parents of murder victim Ron Goldman.

Malcolm LaVergne, an attorney and executor of Simpson’s will, affirmed his commitment to honoring any claim made by the Goldmans to recover the millions awarded to them in a 1998 civil judgment against O.J.

“I can tell you in advance, Fred Goldman’s claim will be accepted. And his claim will be handled in accordance with Nevada law,” LaVergne, who has represented Simpson since 2009, told THR

LaVergne previously told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he opposed Ron Goldman’s family obtaining funds from the estate.

“Within an hour of knowing that O.J. died, he started talking sh*t,” LaVergne told THR about Fred Goldman.

“My advocate instinct was, ‘Oh, you’re gonna keep sh*tting on him even after he’s dead? Fine, you know? You get nothing.’ And so, those were my remarks then. But I backtracked, and they were pretty harsh remarks. And now I’m going in the other direction,” LaVergne continued.

LaVergne said he plans to be “hyper transparent” with the Goldmans and Nicole Brown Simpson’s family.

Ron and Nicole were fatally stabbed outside her home in the affluent Brentwood area of Los Angeles in June 1994. Simpson was charged with the slayings and acquitted in 1995. He was found liable in a civil suit brought by the victims’ families but reportedly only paid a fraction of the $33.5 million judgment.

According to THR, the money owed to the families is subject to a judgment lien and is considered “secured debt,” which will be prioritized over payouts to Simpson’s unsecured debt.
