*Former Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade has finalized his divorce from his wife of 24 years, Joycelyn Wade, following his affair with Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis.
According to the New York Post, Nathan and Joycelyn settled their case in Cobb County, Georgia Monday.
“The Wade’s divorce is indeed finalized,” said Stephanie Weil, Joycelyn’s attorney. “Divorce is a very painful process even under ordinary circumstances, but Joycelyn endured a particularly difficult divorce by any measure.”
Weil added, “Despite the cacophony of false accusations levied by her former husband and those with political agendas, Joycelyn Wade always remained above the fray displaying dignity and grace. In that spirit, we will not be commenting on the particulars of the divorce,” she explained.
“Our team was privileged to walk alongside Joycelyn on this challenging journey and we know her future will be full of the happiness she so richly deserves.”
We reported earlier that Wade lost his prosecutor position in the Donald Trump election fraud case due to his affair with Willis. In an interview with ABC News, he acknowledged that the timing of his workplace romance with Willis was less than ideal. However, he emphasized that it did not negatively impact the Trump case.
Wade’s relationship with Willis came to light during his contentious divorce proceedings with his ex-wife.
“I regret that that private matter became the focal point of this very important prosecution,” he told ABC News. “This is a very important case.”
Wade previously cited financial hardship as a way to avoid paying alimony to Joycelyn. He sought to reduce his support payments amid Joycelyn’s accusations that he refused to cover her medical bills and financially support their two children as part of a temporary settlement reached in January.
As The Post reports, the divorce settlement terms were not immediately disclosed in the court records.
