*Comedian Marlon Wayans is embattled with his ex over custody of their one-year-old daughter.
According to RadarOnline, Wayans was served legal documents by the child’s mother, Brittany Moreland, 34, regarding custody arrangements for their child, Axl July Ivory Wayans. Moreland wants joint physical and legal custody of their daughter and suggested Wayans be awarded visitation rights.
Furthermore, Moreland requested that the actor cover her legal fees and “reasonable expenses related to pregnancy and childbirth.”
As SandraRose.com reports, Marlon claims he pays Moreland $18,000 a month in child support but she wants to increase it to $22,000, citing her monthly expenses. In an interview with The Shade Room, Wayans called Moreland “entitled.”
“It’s the classic case of a good, loving, responsible father shelling out over $18k per month for a one-year-old, and an entitled woman decides she wants more. My mama and dem would’ve lost their minds for $2k,” Wayans said.
“All these women having to drag men to court who pay NOTHING towards their children. And here, a woman gets a doctor’s salary and says it isn’t enough? I’ve had two children before this. I’ve never had this problem. I’m a good man with a good heart and strong sense of responsibility, but I refuse to be used and discredited,” he continued, according to SandraRose.com.
“All love, all GOD. The baby isn’t a secret. The mama has been posted. I chose to keep the baby’s private life private. Ain’t nobody’s business. Social media is toxic and dangerous and I’d like to keep her peace,” Wayans added.
Regarding Moreland’s request to the court to grant him “visitation” rights, Wayans said, “Do you pay all that money per month and be called a ‘visitor’?”
He added: “Do the math. This is delusional. I will let the lawyers and God do what they do, I’ll be creating art from a broken heart. I got nothing but love. Even when it’s bad, it’s good.”
