During Tuesday night’s episode, Gary spoke about Prince Harry and his wife to housemates Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne, blaming Meghan for changing the family dynamic, Daily Mail reports.

“I have an opinion that Harry was really, really really loved and when they were a threesome, so Kate, William and Harry they looked really comfortable together, and then suddenly there’s an extra dynamic that comes in, puts a stick in the spokes and creates so much drama that I don’t genuinely think is there, and rewrote the history, saying how unhappy he was and I just don’t think that’s fair,” Goldsmith stated.

“I mean you can’t throw your family under the bus in such a dramatic style, then write books about it and expect to be invited round for Christmas,” the 58-year-old businessman added, admitting he hasn’t met Meghan.

“I think it’s really sad. At some point, I think he is going to come back and be a part of the gang again. He might need to,” he added. We are a very forgiving nation; it would be nice if he did.”

Sharon called Prince Harry “foolish” and said the royal couple’s appeal in the U.S. is waning.

“In the beginning, they were very very well received,” she said. “They don’t understand it, but they do love it, you know? But it’s dwindling, dwindling, dwindling and there’s been some deals that they have done that haven’t worked well.”

The reality show premiered on ITV on Monday and immediately sparked backlash from a domestic violence abuse charity over Gary’s abusive past, PEOPLE reports.

Goldsmith was arrested in October 2017 for a brutal assault on his fourth ex-wife, Julie-Ann Brown. He allegedly knocked her out during a drunken fight after she accused him of taking drugs. The Independent reported that he entered a guilty plea, received a $6,000 fine, and had to undergo 20 rehabilitation sessions.

The UK charity Women’s Aid expressed disappointment with the decision to cast Goldsmith for the “Celebrity Big Brother U.K.” house.

“The decision to include a man who has been charged, and pleaded guilty to, assaulting his wife, in the Celebrity Big Brother house demonstrates the lack of awareness that the production team has when it comes to survivors of domestic abuse,” said a statement from the organization.

“The producers should consider how Gary Goldsmith’s appearance will impact women who have survived domestic abuse and how they will feel watching him on TV every night,” it continued.
