*Since the Orange A-hole likes to play games and belittle people, let’s see if he can handle a taste of his own medicine. We’re betting he can’t. We say that because in a surprising twist of political gamesmanship, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris skillfully used former President Donald Trump‘s own words to highlight the technical difficulties he experienced during a recent livestream interview with Elon Musk on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The irony was palpable, as Trump’s appearance on X was delayed by more than 40 minutes, eerily mirroring the scenario Florida Governor Ron DeSantis faced in May 2023. Back then, Trump had ridiculed DeSantis’ much-publicized technical glitches that marred the launch of his presidential primary bid against Trump himself, reports the NY Daily News.
“Wow! The DeSanctus TWITTER launch is a DISASTER!” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform at the time. “His whole campaign will be a disaster. WATCH!”
DeSantis’s campaign struggled and eventually ended in January, months after that chaotic event. Fast forward to this past Monday when Trump faced almost an identical issue, with his interview with Musk suffering significant delays. Harris’ campaign seized the opportunity to repost Trump’s scathing critique of DeSantis, using it to underscore the irony of Trump’s predicament.
Despite the technical hiccup, Musk declared victory on X, boasting that the event garnered engagement or interaction from a billion people. Meanwhile, CNN reported that Trump made at least 20 false statements during the event. Musk, who had previously declared his full endorsement of Trump, attributed the delayed start to a “massive” cyber attack that supposedly overwhelmed X’s systems.
Not one to miss a chance for political theater, Trump remained defiant, describing the event as a resounding success.
“I spent 2 1/2 hours last night talking to Elon, a fantastic guy, getting all-time record Views/hits, and all the Fake News wants to report is that the servers crashed (because of the tremendous volume!), and the show opened a little late,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “What they should be reporting was the incredible number of people that were listening. I absolutely HATE the Fake News Media. So bad for our Country!”
Kamala Harris’ campaign, meanwhile, didn’t miss a beat, releasing a statement that ridiculed the entire debacle:
“Trump’s entire campaign is in service of people like Elon Musk and himself—self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in 2024,” Harris’ team posted on X.

The clash exemplifies the digital age warfare characterizing the current political landscape, where even technical mishaps become fodder for fierce partisan battles.
Harris’ strategic use of Trump’s own words against him not only highlighted the irony of the situation but also demonstrated her campaign’s readiness to engage robustly with the challenges of a modern presidential race, where both political and technological proficiency are scrutinized under the public’s lens.
The unfolding drama sets the stage for a highly charged and high-stakes 2024 election campaign, where every move, word, and even technical glitch are bound to be exploited by opponents in the relentless pursuit of political advantage.
