*MSNBC’s Joy Reid dropped an F-bomb on a hot mic during Monday’s broadcast of “The ReidOut.”
Reid unintentionally uttered the expletive while discussing President Joe Biden’s border crisis. At one point, she slammed Republican leaders who voted against Biden’s policies but claimed credit for positive outcomes.
“Case in point– fixing what they say is a crisis at the border with congressional negotiators continuing work on a bipartisan deal to tie border policy changes to funding for Ukraine,” she said, Mediaite reports.
“Over the weekend, President Biden said he’s ready to take action if Congress is serious about solving the border issue,” she continued.
As clips aired of Biden speaking at Columbia, South Carolina, on January 28 about the border situation, Reid was unaware her microphone was still on when she said Biden is… “Starting another f*ckin’ war.”
The statement was presumably about the tensions in the Middle East.
On X/Twitter, one user said, “That was Joy’s first honest line of reporting.”
Another added, “Wonder if accidental truth is grounds for termination over there?”
A third commented, “Can you imagine her ratings if she really spoke her mind instead of her preprogrammed script.”
Reid came back on air about a moment after her mic was cut. Later in the show, she apologized to viewers.
“Before we go, I just want to apologize very quickly,” Reid said. “I was chatting during a clip that was playing, and you know, we try to keep this show very PG-13, so I just want to apologize to anyone who was listening to my ‘behind the scenes’ chatter. I deeply, deeply apologize for that.”
