John Legend Talks ‘Get Lifted’ 20th Anniversary Reissue on ‘Jennifer Hudson Show’ | Video

*John Legend is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album “Get Lifted” with a reissue featuring some of your favorite artists.

The 20th Anniversary Edition includes 11 additional tracks, featuring collaborations with Lil Wayne, Killer Mike, Simi, and Black Thought. The project includes a new version of Legend’s Grammy-nominated hit “Ordinary People,” performed with Nigerian artist Tems. Listen to the track above.

“I’m so thrilled to be celebrating 20 years of the album that introduced me to the world,” Legend shared in a statement. “Get Lifted has always meant so much to me and to so many of my fans and supporters. I’m so grateful for the career that this album launched. These last 20 years have taken me far beyond my wildest dreams.”

He added: “Revisiting the original album and some of the unreleased songs from that era has been such a meaningful experience. “Reinvigorating the music with fresh remixes and collaborations featuring some of my favorite artists makes this celebration even more special.”

Meanwhile, on the November 25th episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” Legend stopped by to chat about the release of “Get Lifted (20th Anniversary).” He also opened up about his musical inspirations and recalled the time he upset Oprah and the memorable lesson from Quincy Jones. Legend also shared his advice for People’s Sexiest Man Alive and his thoughts on the honor while Hudson noted that her boyfriend, rapper/actor Common, should be next on the cover. Watch the moment via the YouTube below.
