*Jay-Z’s annual Made in America festival has been canceled for the second consecutive year.

The festival, usually held in Philadelphia during Labor Day weekend, was announced as canceled on social media and its official website on Wednesday. No specific reason was provided for the cancellation, the Associated Press reports.

“As purveyors of change, the Made In America executive production team is reimagining a live music experience that affirms our love and dedication to music and the work we do. We promise an exciting return to the festival,” the statement read, without providing a timeline for the festival’s return.

The festival was set to return this summer after being pushed back last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“2020 is a year like no other,” a statement issued on Made in America’s website stated at the time. “We are in a pivotal time in this nation’s history. Collectively, we are fighting parallel pandemics, Covid-19, systematic racism and police brutality. Now is the time to protect the health of our artists, fans, partners and community as well as focus on our support for organizations and individuals fighting for social justice and equality in our country. Therefore, the Made In America festival will be rescheduled for Labor Day Weekend 2021.”

The lineup for the 2024 festival had not yet been revealed.

“Since its inception, this groundbreaking festival has celebrated music and community — from creating a space for fans to connect, to uplifting local small businesses and shining a light on important causes. It has strived for accessibility, eliminating barriers through affordable tickets and location,” the festival said in a statement on Wednesday.

In August 2023, a month before the festival was set to occur, Made in America canceled the event “due to severe circumstances beyond production control.”

The organizers said, “This decision has been difficult and has not been made lightly nor without immense deliberation.”
