*His retro soul-drenched vocals have already been featured alongside Faith Evans and championed by Snoop Dogg. Now, Death Row Records artist October London focuses 100 percent on his inner Marvin Gaye for “The Rebirth of Marvin,” his first full-length solo album that has left at least one member of the Gaye family with “mixed feelings.”
“He’s good, he’s very good,” says Gaye’s sister, Zeola Gaye. “Of all the people I’ve heard that sounds like my brother, he’s been the closest one. He definitely sounds like Marvin. But I’m wondering why would the person want to sound exactly like Marvin singing their own original songs? What do you get out of that?”
