Tragedy At GloRilla Concert: 1 Dead, 8 Injured in Stampede | VIDEOs

*We bet the folks who went to the GloRilla concert in Rochester, NY last night (03-05-23) didn’t expect to be caught up in a death scene. Unfortunately, that’s the case as one woman is dead and two others were critically injured after a large crowd surged following a concert with GloRilla and Finesse2Tymes.

Reports say three women were taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where one of three — a 33-year-old woman — was pronounced dead, according to Rochester police.

The other two victims were listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries as of Monday morning.

Seven additional concert-goers were dropped off by private vehicles at area hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening but were related to the same incident, according to a police report.

Here’s what the Commercial Appeal in Rochester is reporting:

Just after 11 p.m., after the concert ended, concert-goers were leaving the venue when the crowd started to surge and rush toward the exit, said Rochester Police Chief David Smith. There were reports of individuals hearing what they believed to be gunshots inside the venue, at 900 E. Main St., “causing the crowd to panic,” he said.

Smith said there was no evidence that anyone fired a gun inside the venue, or that anyone at the venue was shot or stabbed. The injuries, Smith said, “were caused from being trampled,” Smith said.

Police, along with other city departments including the Fire Marshal, Code Enforcement Office, and Rochester’s Corporate Counsel, are investigating the fatal stampede and are currently interviewing concert-goers, injured victims, and security, among others. Police are looking into numerous contributing factors including crowd size, shots fired, and pepper spray, as part of the investigation.

Meanwhile, afterwards,  GloRilla tweeted: “I’m just now hearing about what happened wtf… praying everybody is ok [praying hands emojis].”

For whatever reason, when some fans go to her show, things tend to get, shall we say, “edgy.” At one recent concert, as SandraRose reported, a fan tried to snatch off the rapper’s wig so GloRilla took off and flung it to the crowd (giving the people what they want, we guess).

Another time, last month at the Complex Club in Oakland, a displeased person threw a drink at GloRilla when she didn’t perform for the crowd after reportedly being paid $30K to make an appearance.
