*A 38-year-old rapper from Houston has reportedly made $500,000 from selling his original lyrics on the freelancer site Fiverr.
“I never want to stop writing,” Mike Burton shared with CNBC Make It. According to the report, Burton makes a living selling one-of-a-kind raps for artists.
“I love writing for artists. I love writing songs for companies, for businesses,” he told the outlet.
When Burton initially got started offering his services on the platform in 2016, he charged $5 for a 30-second verse. Now his packages go for as much as $560, and he’s bagging up to about $9,000 per month.

The description on his Fiveer page reads: Love is complicated, love is beautiful, love is….I can’t think of the words. “I’m acting as a conduit for your ideas,” Burton told CNBC of his process, noting that he doesn’t write raps about violence, or with profanity.
“I don’t want that sludge in my system,” he added.
Burton also releases his own original tracks under his stage name, Keybeaux, on music streaming platforms like Spotify.
“I’ll have no energy for anyone else if I don’t make my own stuff,” he said.
