*Mathew Knowles is defending his daughter Beyoncé amid the backlash she’s facing from the LGBTQ+ community for performing in Dubai.
Homosexuality is illegal in the country but Queen Bey did not let that stop her from collecting a reported $24m to perform at the unofficial opening of the luxury Dubai hotel Atlantis the Royal. The invitation-only event was the place to be for celebrities, influencers, and journalists, The Guardian reports.
“Everybody is crying about @Beyonce performing in Dubai, yeah they may be anti gay whatever. But just think about it! she just bought so many gays to Dubai for her weekend. Think big Bitches,” one person tweeted in response to the critics.
“Beyoncé can perform where ever she so chooses! Dubai paid her 24 million dollars. I don’t care what Dubai has to say about the gays. 24 million? Where you want me to perform at?” another person tweeted.

Knowles told TMZ that Bey’s performance “united a really diverse crowd”. In response to the hate coming from the LGBTQ+ community, Mathew noted that his daughter has “always stood for inclusiveness” and would never do anything to “deliberately hurt someone.”
Knowles also confirmed that the 25-time Grammy winner is planning a tour, and she will “announce it when she’s ready,” he teased.
