Lauryn Hill Announces Tour Celebrating 25th Anniversary of ‘Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’

*Girl, you know you better watch out, Lauryn Hill is going on tour and bring her former group The Fugees along as the opening act.

The singer will celebrate the 25th anniversary of her Grammy winning 1998 solo debut, “The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill,” with a trek around the world. Stops will include the U.S., Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

The tour will launch on Sept. 8 in Minneapolis and roll through the annual Global Citizen Festival in New York City on Sept. 23. In Australia, Hill will be joined by Koffee as an opening act.

“The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill is and was a love song to my parents, my family, my people, my musical and cultural forebears, my teachers, my loves, my Creator,” Hill shared in a press release. “I wrote love songs and protest songs–(still love songs) about the subjects and interests that inspired and moved me. I was confident that what inspired me would resonate with an audience that had been led to believe that songs of that kind could only live in the past.”

The Fugees will open most of the North American in the wake of their attempt to reunite last year for a 25th anniversary tour of their 1996 album, “The Score.” However, it was eventually canceled, which Variety suspected was due to Pras Michel’s legal issues. They’ve still managed to take the stage together, including at Roots Picnic in June.
