*Six victims of R. Kelly who were threatened for appearing in the docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly” have been awarded a total of about $10.5 million from the disgraced crooner and his former manager, Donnell Russell, reports TMZ.

According to documents obtained by the website, the women had sued Kelly and Russell for successfully shutting down a December 2018 screening of “Surviving R. Kelly” in New York City. They claimed that starting in May 2018, the Kelly and Russell waged a campaign to intimidate them, as well as A&E/Lifetime and the producers to stop the docuseries from seeing the light of day.

The lawsuit claims that when those efforts, including legal threats, did not result in shutting down the screening, Kelly’s team called producers on the night of the screening and said someone was “going to shoot up the place.”

The fake threat worked. After receiving the false mass shooting threat, organizers shut down the event. According to the victims, it opened up past trauma and resulted in them suffering PTSD and panic attacks.

The judgment against Kelly and Russell means each of the 6 women should get anywhere between $1.1 million and $2.25 million. And despite R. Kelly being broke, the women may actually see some of that payment, as R. Kelly’s music is still generating revenue, according to TMZ. The site reports that over $500,000 of his royalties from Universal Music Group are going to pay restitution he owed victims from one of his federal sex crimes cases.

Kelly is currently serving a 30-year prison sentence.
