*Hollywood blogger and rising media mogul Jason Lee says investing in young people is top of mind in Stockton (California) as teenagers continue to be the victims of violent crimes.
“No matter where you go, crime is affecting the city,” said Lee.
Lee grew up in Stockton. He was in and out of foster care, shot in a drive-by shooting, and from a young age, saw the violence on its streets firsthand reports CBS13.
“Wherever it’s happening, it’s creating a multi-layered stigma that’s preventing Stockton from moving forward,” Lee said.
Under the umbrella of his Hollywood Cares Foundation, connecting celebrities to ways to give back to underserved kids, he wants to pilot a new youth programming initiative in his hometown called “I Am Ready.” Get more via the video up top.
