Is Black Wealth Under Attack? – The Journal of Steffanie Rivers | WATCH

*When it comes to Black people in pursuit of building Black wealth in America, their plan most likely includes owning land, owning property then passing it to the next generation.

Yet, that plan works only if the family members who have steward over the asset have a unified vision and understand the responsibilities that come with it.

When I read about a Black family in Alabama, and their legal battle to retain 40 acres of land that have been in their family for generations I had to talk about it with a family who has worked together for the past 50 years to protect their land and homestead.

Martin and Milford are two brothers in a group of nine siblings. They successfully have worked together on their parents’ shared vision. Click the video to hear how these brothers have passed that vision to the next generation.
