*Ed Reed will no longer be the head coach at Bethune-Cookman University after going on a wild video rant against the school about the abysmal campus conditions.

Reed, a Super Bowl champion, announced the news in an emotional 15-minute apology to players and parents, ESPN reports.

“We’ve been around here trying to change things,” Reed said. “My vision for change, probably moving too fast for a lot of people. I’m not withdrawing my name, as they said. They don’t want me here. They do not want me here because I tell the truth.”

In a tweet, Reed announced, “After weeks of negotiations I’ve been informed that the University won’t be ratifying my contract and won’t make good on the agreement we had in principle, which had provisions and resources best needed to support the student athletes.”

“I was committed to coaching and cultivating a relationship with the University, Players, Community and the Fans. It’s extremely disappointing this won’t be happening,” Reed said.

Reed previously hit up social media on Sunday (Jan. 15) to complain about having to clean up the trash on football grounds. He also noted that once he arrived at Bethune-Cookman University, his office wasn’t set up and ready for his takeover, The Jasmine Brand reports.

“I just pulled up the work. We’re going to try to help y’all too man. Because I know a lot of HBCUs need help. I’m just here to help here first. I see it all too clearly. All of our HBCUs need help. And they need help because of the people who’s running it. Broken mentalities out here. I’m going to leave you with that. I gotta get in the office.”

During his live stream, the NFL legend revealed that he hadn’t officially signed a contract with BCU.

On Dec. 27, BCU and Reed “entered an agreement in principle … to be its 16th head football coach” after the previous coach, Terry Sims, was fired in late November.

After arriving on campus to find it in disarray, Reed later apologized for the damaging video rant that he publicly shared in which he slammed the university.

“I’m a good man, not perfect,” he said. “We all make mistakes, and I apologized for mine.”

Bethune-Cookman said in a newly released statement that it had “decided not to proceed with contract negotiations” with Reed.

“While we appreciate the initial interest in our football program displayed by Mr. Reed during the course of recent weeks, we are also mindful of the qualities and attributes that must be exhibited by our institutional personnel during what have been uniquely challenging times for our campus as we recover from the impact of two hurricanes during this past fall semester,” the statement said in part.
