*Several prominent A-listers have been ordered to evacuate their posh California homes in Montecito because of major mudslides caused by a winter storm.
We reported previously via CNN that “the state is getting pummeled again with torrential downpours and ferocious winds, causing power outages and treacherous travel conditions,” the outlet writes.
As TMZ reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and Oprah are among the residents who’ve been ordered to evacuate immediately. Ellen DeGeneres also lives in the area but noted on social media that she lives on higher ground and was ordered to shelter in place.
“Expect widespread power outages, downed trees and difficult driving conditions,” the National Weather Service in Sacramento tweeted, as reported by CNN. “Now is the time to prepare if you have not already!”

DeGeneres shared a video on social media showing a flash flood near her home. She wrote in the caption to the post, “Montecito is under mandatory evacuation. We are on higher ground so they asked us to shelter in place.”
She also made reference to the deadly Montecito floods five years ago to the day that killed 23 people.
“This is crazy, on the five year anniversary. We’re having unprecedented rain,” DeGeneres added.

The entire community of Montecito, California, is under an evacuation order on the fifth anniversary of deadly debris flows that hit the area amid the same type of heavy rain falling there and in other parts of California today. At least 20 people were killed when a wall of debris struck the Santa Barbara County community on Jan. 9, 2018. This afternoon, the town of 8,200 people is being told to leave their homes due to the threat of flooding and debris flows.
Per the outlet, “The evacuation order also includes Toro Canyon, Sycamore Canyon, and Padaro Lane,” TWC writes.
