*Reality TV’s most well-known producer Carlos King has done it again. His franchise show “Love and Marriage” expanded to DC last year. Now the cast is back for more drama. From their married lives to their social life, the DC stars don’t hold back this season and they put the real in reality.
But not everyone has returned this season. Realty TV alums Monique Samuels and her husband Chris decided not to return this season. Which had the internet in a frenzy since their departure was announced shortly after rumors of their separation.
Fans speculated that Samuels’ sudden departure was so they would not expose their relationship on TV. Will any of this play out in season two?
I spoke with King about it and he said, “When Monique decided to focus on her family and her personal life, we were filming for six weeks, so it didn’t affect us in the way people may think it did.”

Even though the Samuels’ decision to leave the show happened during filming, it was so early on it didn’t hurt the rest of the season. As they say in showbiz, the show must go on! And with the exit of the Samuels, a new couple has entered the lion’s den of reality TV. Joi Carter and Clifton Pettie have joined the cast, and viewers may recognize them from Own’s “Ready to Love.” According to King, viewers are in for a treat this second season.
As a fan of the show myself, I expressed to King how I was hooked from season one and knew I wanted more of this show.
“And baby I’m giving yall a lot more! It’s a lot more episodes this season, so you get to really be entrenched with these couples,” said King.
I don’t know about y’all but I will be tuning in to “Love & Marriage DC” when it airs Saturday, January 21st on Own Network.
