*This is sure to be the last Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebration as a free man for quite some time for Rapper Tory Lanez. Last week Lanez, whose government name is Daystar Peterson, was convicted of three felonies in the shooting of rapper Meg Thee Stallion that could put him in prison for more than 20 years.
During the two-week-long trial in Los Angeles witnesses for the prosecution – including Meg – testified that Lanez was the shooter. So why didn’t Lanez take the witness stand in his own defense? There’s a time to remain silent and there’s a time to speak up.
If someone is on trial and their freedom is on the line, why wouldn’t he take the witness stand to profess his innocence?
