*Deion Sanders has left many sports fans disappointed following his decision to move on from the head coaching position at Jackson State University for a new gig at the University of Colorado.

We reported previously that Sanders has been labeled a “sellout” for leaving HBCU Jackson State to coach at Colorado. Now comes word that his mural at JSU was defaced by a young Black male (presumably a student) who was caught in the act.

Video circulating social media shows the student defacing a mural of Sanders. It remains unclear if the student was punished for the incident.

Meanwhile, Sanders was officially announced as Colorado’s next head coach on Sunday, Yahoo reports.

“It ain’t gonna be no more of a mess that these wonderful fans, the student body and some of your parents have put up with for probably two decades now. I’m coming, and when I get here, it’s gonna be changed,” Sanders told the Colorado football players upon his arrival to Boulder.

“So I want y’all to get ready to go ahead and jump in the portal and do whatever you’re gonna get because if more of you jump in, the more room you make,” he continued.

On a recent episode of Undisputed, Shannon Sharpe said he’s more excited for Deion’s new coaching job than he is sad for Jackson State’s loss.

“I was more excited for him [Deion] than I was sad for Jackson State,” Sharpe said, The Source reports. “And I think Jackson State should be happy for him because he gave you a blueprint and showed you what you could be, what you could become.”

Sanders came to Jackson State University three years ago and he turned the Tigers into an undefeated college football team. Several JSU players have come to his defense amid backlash over his move to Colorado.

I don’t understand why people don’t see the positive,” senior wide receiver Isaiah Bolden said, Complex reports. “Coach Prime came out of his pocket to built a great HBCU locker room… He did what he said he was going to do. He put HBCUs on the map in my opinion.”

Player Jason Mercier said, “It gives him a challenge to show everybody what he got. I know people have been doubting him because he’s been at a HBCU but let’s see what he does in the PAC12, I’m sure he’s going to dominate there too.”
