*We caught up with the young stars of “National Treasure: Edge of History” which is now streaming on Disney+.
The series is a spinoff of the beloved film franchise that stars Nicolas Cage. Lisette Olivera leads the cast in Edge of History as “a brilliant and resourceful DREAMer who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to uncover the truth about her family’s mysterious past and save a lost Pan-American treasure,” per the series synopsis.
Per the full official synopsis: Jess Valenzuela’s (Oliveria) life is turned upside down when an enigmatic stranger gives her a clue to a centuries-old treasure that might be connected to her long-dead father. Jess has a knack for solving puzzles, and her skills are put to the test as she and her friends follow a series of clues hidden in American artifacts and landmarks. But can Jess outsmart a black-market antiquities dealer in a race to find history’s greatest lost treasure and unbury the truth about her family’s past?
In the clip above, Olivera tells EUR’s Ny MaGee what she’s most excited about longtime “National Treasure” fans and newcomers to the franchise experiencing with the new Disney+ show.
Olivera stars opposite Zuri Reed who plays Jess’ bestie Tasha, as well as Antonio Cipriano as Oren, Jordan Rodrigues as Ethan, Jake Austin Walker as Liam, and Lyndon Smith as FBI Agent Ross. I spoke to each one about their role this season and how their characters fit into Jess’ world. Check out what they had to say in the clips below.
Hollywood icon Catherine Zeta-Jones also stars in the series that is executive produced by super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Cormac & Marianne Wibberley, Jonathan Littman, and KristieAnne Reed, alongside Rick Muirragui, who also serves as a writer. Jon Turteltaub is also an executive producer. Mira Nair is directing and executive producing.
