*This holiday season Chopra fans are getting a special gift!
Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Sati in Warner Bros. Pictures “The Matrix Resurrections!” The fourth installment in “The Matrix” film series premieres Wednesday. “The Matrix Revolutions” (2003) sequel portrays Jonas as a woman of wisdom who belies her years and ability to see the truth.
We spoke to the People’s Choice Awards winner about badass, choices and looking cool.
Q: When was the last time you had to make a life changing choice? What was it?
PCJ: My big life-changing choice was when I decided to start working in America in my early 30s. I had an amazing career I was working on it India and I wanted to be challenged. When I came Stateside, I had to start all over from the beginning. If it hadn’t worked out I don’t know what life would have been like. It was a risk for me.
Q: What was your first encounter with “The Matrix” franchise like?
PCJ: I remember watching it around 16 years old in theaters, with my friends and wearing a lot of black clothes after watching it. I stopped smiling because I was trying to be cool and do my Matrix face. I also started having expectations for movies. I started thinking about the broader themes “The Matrix” hit on. Like choice – specifically because I was growing up and trying to figure out who I was.
Q: What two cast mates would you take with you into an alternate universe?
PCJ: Carrie-Anne Moss (Tiffany/Trinity)! I could survive anything if I was with her. She’s a super mom and a badass.. Jessica Henwick (Bugs) because she’s a badass too and makes me laugh all the time.
“The Matrix Resurrections” will be in theaters and on HBO Max December 22!
