*The Texas man who went viral for licking a carton of Blue Bell Ice Cream and putting it back inside the cooler has been sentenced to 30 days in jail.
D’Adrien L’Quinn Anderson will spend a month in jail for a clout chasing incident gone wrong that occurred August 19, 2019, at the Wal-Mart in Port Arthur, Texas. He must also pay a fine of $1,000 along with another $1,565 to Blue Bell and be on a two-year probation, Complex reports.
Wal-Mart was first made aware that an individual violated a carton of ice cream at one of its stores after Anderson posted video of himself taking the ice cream from the display case, removing the lid, licking the ice cream, putting his finger into it and then placing the carton back in the cooler.
“Happy national soft ice cream day lmao #viral,” Anderson, 24, captioned the video.
He later told 12NewsNow that he paid for the vanilla ice cream, but regretted the stunt because he lost his job.

For health and safety reasons, Blue Bell was forced to remove and replace all of the ice cream in that Walmart display, costing over $1500, according to reports.
Anderson’s prank was part of online trend last summer in which Millennials filmed themselves licking ice cream containers in stores and putting it back in the freezer.
As a condition of his probation, Anderson is required to complete 100 hours of Community Service.
A representative of Blue Bell Creameries tells Yahoo Lifestyle, “The safety of our ice cream is our highest priority, and we take tampering with our products very seriously. We are pleased to see this matter has been resolved.”
