Reopening In The Midst Of a Storm: Job Says Come. I Say No. Should I?

Wow…what should I do?

what do you do when you're afraid of your job (google free to share and use)

Question:

Texas has reopened.  I think the state reopened too soon. I’m scared to go back to work. If I don’t go back to work I will lose my job. What should I do?

Answer:

Hello,

First, let me say this pandemic has been very devastating and a test of faith for everyone. It is our reality. Before, you make the decision not to return, you must understand your employer must operate a business and require employees to resume their positions. I recommend you find out what safety guidelines have been put in place at your job and/or what guidelines can you take according to policy.

I further recommend you take every precaution to protect you and your family and expect your company to do the same. However, if you do not return as required, you may be making a decision to voluntarily terminate your employment.    Please understand your employer has the right to request staff to return and you may choose not to as well.

It will be your decision to make not your employer.  Hope this helps
