*Lexii Alijai’s cause of death has been revealed, weeks after her sudden passing earlier this month.
The young star died after combining alcohol with drugs, PEOPLE reports.
“This individual died due to mixed fentanyl and ethanol toxicity,” the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Monday, according to a press release .
Alijai’s death has been ruled an accident.
We previously reported, Alijai was best known for her rhymes in Kehlani’s 2015 hit song “Jealous.” She passed away at of 21.

The rising rapper put out two albums during her short career: “Joseph’s Coat” in 2015 and “Growing Pains” in 2017
Along with collaborating with Grammy-nominated singer Kehlani, Alijai also worked with Drake, Nas and Def Loaf, reports Essence.
She also performed at the Soundset Music Festival in St. Paul in 2016 at the age of just 18, Bring Me The News reported.
Alijai was found dead on Jan. 1 at the Loews Minneapolis Hotel in Minnesota, according to the press release.
“Weakest saddest way to start a new year,” Kehlani wrote in one tweet at the time her death was announced, later adding: “this s— was so much deeper than music that was my little sister.”
She went on to share tributes to Alijai on Twitter and Instagram.
“I keep typing and backspacing … you knew what you meant to me … everyone knew what you meant,” she tweeted. “You were so special bro … i seen you fight thru it all i seen u thug it out lex … imma miss you so bad … you was about to get everything you always talked about … RIP MY BABY.”

“The entire 1AM family is heartbroken and deeply saddened by her passing,” 1AM Media told Billboard at the time of her death. “Our deepest condolences to her friends, fans and everyone who was touched by her. Her family appreciates privacy during this difficult time.”
Alijai died six weeks out from what would have been her 22nd birthday.
