WE REMEMBER: Rapper Lexii Alijai (Known for Callabo with Kehlani) Dead At 21

*Unfortunately, we have sad news regarding rapper Lexii Alijai, who was best known for her rhymes in Kehlani’s 2015 hit song “Jealous.” She passed away at the very young age of 21.

Her family confirmed her passing via a post on Facebook. A cause of death has yet to be shared.

For those not familiar with her, the raptress’ real name is Alexis Alijai Lynch. She was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota and released two albums: 2015’s Joseph’s Coat and Growing Pains, released in 2017. Along with collaborating with Kehlani, Alijai also worked with Drake, Nas and Def Loaf, reports Essence.

The rising star previously performed at the Soundset Music Festival in St. Paul in 2016 at the age of just 18, Bring Me The News reported.

In Alijai’s last Facebook post on New Year’s Eve, she shared her status written on that day in 2013.

“Stayin in the crib as usual on New Years… [I don’t] do parties,” it said. “I hope everyone has fun, be safe!”

Many celebrities took to social media to remember the young rapper, including Kehlani, who wrote in a caption on Instagram that she’ll miss her “sis.”

“I’m so sick. I’m so angry. I’m confused and my heart is broken. I don’t know why this happened. I don’t know what you’ve ever done but be brilliant, kind, strong, gentle, compassionate,” she began in the lengthy caption.

Other artists, including Wale, Ari Lennox, Ella Mai and Elle Varner also paid their respects.
