*“Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris has called off his divorce from his longtime wife and muse, Dr. Rania “Rainbow” Barris

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Kenya filed a request for dismissal of his divorce on May 15, which will keep him legally married.

We previously reported… Barris filed for divorce in August 2019 following 20 years of marriage. According to The Blast, in court documents, Kenya listed the reason for the divorce was “irreconcilable differences” and he requested joint legal and physical custody of their six children.

Dr. Rainbow is an anesthesiologist affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She also has an office in Encino, CA. She is also the inspiration behind the comedy series “Black-ish” and “Mixed-ish” and Barris’ latest project that continues to highlight his mixed race/colorism fetish, “BlackAF,” which is currently streaming on Netflix.

The judge will now have to sign off to officially dismiss the divorce case.

Earlier this month, Kenya spoke to T.I. on his podcast expediTIously about the divorce, saying  “I’m going through a divorce right now. Who knows what’s going to happen with that.”

He added, “It is part of life. When I was growing up, we didn’t have—I never saw Cliff and Clair [Huxtable] argue. If you look at sitcoms and our stories, we’re supposed to be okay. But 52 percent of marriages don’t work. It is the toughest thing I’ve ever been through in my life.”

Kenya continued, “We didn’t know about therapy or really understand it. We didn’t know about really having the church or other married friends that would have given us the skeleton to make it in another sort of way. So I feel like talking about that to a generation of —-people who might be going through what I’m going through, it makes them say, ‘Hey, there’s other people out there like me. Maybe we can make it. Maybe we can’t.’ I just want to be as real with my sh*t as possible.”
