*Former Oklahoma State cornerback Kemah Siverand has been cut from the Seahawks after being caught on video sneaking a woman into the team’s hotel room.
According to NFL.com reporter Tom Pelissero, the woman was wearing Seahawks gear “in an attempt to disguise her as a player.”
Kemah’s antics violated the NFL’s COVID-19 guidelines, and the league wasted no time making an example out of him.
“Rule number one here: Always protect the team,” said Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll, per Peter King of NBC Sports. “I’ll convey the degree of discipline we need here, every day. I’ll tell them your conscience is important; your conscience has to guide you.”

Clear message on the responsibility everyone has in the NFL’s COVID-19 world: Put the team at risk, suffer the consequences.

The Seahawks, like all teams across the NFL, are taking safety protocols seriously as the league embarks on the 2020 season. A memo sent to teams states outsiders (excluding members of player’s travel party) are not permitted for visitation.
Meanwhile, the league and NFLPA will continue daily COVID-19 testing through Sept. 5.
“We will continue to monitor positivity rates within each club and relevant information from each team community to inform our assessment of testing frequency ahead of the regular season,” the NFLPA said on Twitter.
“We’ve always wanted to make sure that we provide the most accurate test results,” said Dr. Allen Sills, the NFL’s chief medical officer. “In doing 75,000 tests over the first two weeks, you collect a lot of learning. We are constantly looking at all aspects of the protocol and how we can make it better. …
“What we’re trying to do here is be really, radically transparent. We’re trying to tell you, ‘This is what we’re learning and seeing in real time, here are the steps we’re making to adjust.’ And I expect that process to continue over the course of this season.”
The NFLPA announced that 56 players have tested positive for the virus since the start of training camp.
