*One of the things you’ve probably already figured out about EURweb is that we are in demand when it comes to covering events in Hollywood.
That means we oftentimes have to say no because we just don’t have enough personnel to cover all the requests. What to do? What to do(?) is what we ask ourselves all the time.
Well, we found ourselves in that position last week when we got a last-minute invite to cover the birthday party for celebrity “make-up maestro,” Derrick Rutledge.
Rutledge, if you didn’t know, has painted the faces of some of the world’s most famous women including the former first lady of the United States Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Chaka Kahn and is the current celebrity make-up artist to one of the most influential women in the world, media mogul, Oprah Winfrey.
On top of that, the party was promoted as being hosted by funny woman/actress Kym Whitley, so we knew there was bound to be some shenanigans happening along with a whole bunch of fun. This is one we thought we needed to cover.

The problem, as we’ve been hinting, is that we didn’t have a reporter to cover for us. Well, guess what, we thought, let’s just send our cameraman/videographer, Reggie Simon. We figured we’ll just give him some questions for Derrick ad the other celebs and we’ll go with what he brings back.
Well, guess what? Reggie stepped up to plate and not only asked the questions, but he got in front of the camera and showed out! Really, who knew?! ? Actually we did. We’ve seen him interact with folks when he’s behind the camera on the red carpet so we had a feeling he could handle it. We just didn’t know he would be so comfortable the first time out.
