*Following weeks of speculation about about his next career move… Marshawn Lynch has confirmed that he is headed back to Seattle.
Lynch, 33, has signed a deal with the Seattle Seahawks. As reported by Complex, Doug Hendrickson, Lynch’s agent, took to Twitter to post a picture of the contract (see below).
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport wrote, “New #Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch passed a physical, signed a deal, and is in position to play this week in a huge game on Sunday night. That should spice it up a bit.”

Adam Schefter also added on Twitter, “Beastmode officially is back in Seattle. Marshawn Lynch and the Seahawks have an agreement, and Seattle has a new RB to line up against SF during Sunday night’s NFC-West-deciding showdown.” In a follow-up tweet he noted “New/old Seahawks’ RB Marshawn Lynch signed a deal for this year only – the last regular-season game and the postseason, per source.”

After 11 seasons in the NFL, Lynch decided to hang up his cleats for good back in April. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Twitter that Lynch had retired for the 2019-20 season.
“After two seasons playing for his hometown Oakland Raiders,” Schefter tweeted. “Marshawn Lynch is not planning to play football again, league sources tell ESPN.”
Lynch previously played with the Oakland Raiders.
“He’s been working really hard,” Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said while on 710 ESPN Seattle. “He’s really excited about the chance to do something helping out, and I think it’s freakin’ great if he could get out there and tote the ball for us. The circumstances rolled just at this time, and he could have four or five games left in him. Maybe that’s what we need.”
