‘It’ Director Andy Muschietti Talks His Worst Fear, Creating ‘It Chapter Two’ and More – VIDEO

*The director of “It” sat down with EURweb to talk his goals for chapter two, honoring Stephen King’s legacy and what it would be like if Pennywise turned into his worst fear.

The next chapter of “It” (“It Chapter 2“) is respectively the most anticipated film of this year. “The Losers” are back, it’s been 27 years since their last fight with the killer clown, Pennywise, and it’s time to settle the score – once and for all. The original cast of the first chapter of “It” returns: Finn Wolfhard, Jaden Lieberher, Wyatt Oleff, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Sophia Lillis. But, this time, they are joined by their adult counterparts, Jessica Chastaine, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, James Ransone, Jay Ryan and Andy Bean.

Andy Muschietti, like chapter one, directed the two-hour and a half long film and says that chapter 2 was always on his mind, even while make the first film.

“I was always thinking about the second part of this, and make it a very fun and cinematic experience following the journey of these characters, and also giving a new perspective to this portion of the story.”

Muschietti also made sure that his version of “It” stayed true to King’s original story. King’s book includes a part in which a homosexual couple is harassed and assaulted. The 1990 adaptation removed that story, but Muschietti kept it in his retelling of the story. The incident is actually based on the real-life murder of Charlie Howard.

“Yeah, for me it’s important because it’s relevant to the times that we are living. It was important for Stephen King when he wrote it. He was basically writing about an evil human element of a small town in America. And this was in the middle of writing of It. This happened, and it really impressed Stephen King to the point where he included it, and describe it almost as it happened. For me, it’s relevant to put it in the movie because it’s relevant to the time we are living. And it’s just a reminder that evil is not only from supernatural sorts. It’s like the things that we are capable as humans are or could be even worse.”

When it comes to Muschietti’s worse fears, he says it’s already happened. EUR Web host Rocky Harris asked Muschietti what fear would It use to scare him. “Uhhh president. He would come back as a president and try to divide us.”
