Brian Tyree Henry plays Detective Mike Norris in the new “Child’s Play” movie. So, does het get to stay alive or does he continue the the running joke in Hollywood horror that no black people usually end up alive at the end of the film.
“You’ll have to watch and see, I can’t give that away,” Brian says … not wanting to spill any tea before the motion picture hits theaters on June 21.

This Child’s Play aka Chucky is a contemporary adaption of the 1988 classic horror film. Where Andy receives a refurbished seemingly innocent Buddi doll from his mother. However, things take a turn for the worse when Buddi takes matters into his own hands. Andy teams up with the local neighborhood kids to put a stop to the mischievous doll.
“ I was fascinated with horror movies as I didn’t have a lot of censorship in my home when it came to movies.” Brian continued to explain why Chucky messed him up “ In the 80’s there was an actual doll called My Buddi and everyone wanted a my Buddi. Parents were fighting over it.”
Brian Tyree Henry also to being a fan of the “Childs Play” series from waaaaay back.
“When I was in elementary school there was a Child’s Play comic book. I use to go to the Boys and Girls Club all the time and it was when Child’s Play 2 came out and I read this comic book like pretty much every day. One day I went and read the same comic book and the ending was different!” Henry gets excited and goes on to say: “ I’ve always been a fan of this franchise.”
