*Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men doesn’t have a problem with Gina Rodriguez singing the N-word so he’s giving her a pass. His reasoning is since she’s Puerto Rican and a Latina that makes her black … in his mind.
TMZ caught up to the singer earlier today at LAX and asked him to weigh-in on the backlash Miss Rodriguez’s getting after saying “n***a” while singing along to The Fugees on social media.

As we said up top, Stockman is not offended by the actress’ use of the word, and he goes one step further … saying people of Puerto Rican, Cuban, Dominican and Mexican descent can say “n***a” because they’re all different shades of black.

As we reported earlier, Rodriguez quickly apologized after her social media post went viral, saying sorry for offending anyone and explaining her connection to Lauryn Hill and The Fugees. But, Shawn thinks Gina has absolutely nothing to apologize for.
