Lala Anthony Responds to Criticism Over Her Acting: ‘People Naturally Wanna Hate’ (Video)

*Lala Anthony stopped by “The Breakfast Club” on Tuesday to talk about her tragic exit from “Power,” after her character LaKeisha Grant was fatally shot by her former BFF Tasha St. Patrick (played by Naturi Naughton).

We previously reported (via thejasminebrand.com) that LaLa took to Instagram to speak on her murder scene and thanked “Power” series creator 50 Cent and her on-screen boyfriend Joseph Sikora, who plays Tommy.

She wrote:

“SPOILER ALERT Last night was so emotional for me. This was hard to watch I want to thank @50cent & @courtneyakemp for giving me the chance to bring LAKEISHA GRANT to life. I’m forever grateful to the two of them for believing in me. @naturi4real you are an amazing talent and an amazing friend. Im so glad we took this ride together @josephsikora4 I thank you everyday for the work we did. You are phenomenal! That final scene, when you walked in and dropped to your knees…WOW. You pushed me to grow as an actor & a person. I was honored to be your KEISHA. I’m going to miss working with you so much”

During the interview, she also dished about some of the other projects she has in the works and when co-host Charlamagne asked if she gets upset when people say she can’t act, peep how Lala responded below.

Not really. You know…you gotta be worried when people aren’t not talking.

I’m doing it. So, if I couldn’t do it, then why am I doing it?

If you can do it better, then why you not getting the jobs I’m getting?

That’s how I look at it. And my thing is…I do it. I put my all into it. I didn’t start that way, so it’s been a different journey for me and that doesn’t mean I can’t do it.

I think people naturally wanna hate because you started differently.

‘You’re not a real actor. You started on radio. You’re this…you’re that.’

Alright, maybe I didn’t come into it like you, but I put the work in and I continue to put the work in.

So, that doesn’t bother me.

Watch her tell it via the clip above around 22:04.

Meanwhile, La La also responded to the criticism over her acting on Twitter. Now her costar Joseph Sikora has addressed the hate on Instagram.
