*LaShawn Daniels the man behind countless hits has passed away, we must sadly report.  Reports say he was in an automobile accident. He was 41

Fans of Daniels know that he and his wife/manager (April Daniels) frequently appeared on Tamar Braxton’s reality TV shows: “Tamar & Vince” as well as “Braxton Family Values.”

Daniels’ wife, April, issued the following statement through her publicist, JoJo Pada:

“It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, family member and friend, Lashawn Daniels who was the victim of a fatal car accident in South Carolina,” her statement read. “A Grammy-award winning producer and songwriter, Daniels was a man of extraordinary faith and a pillar in our family.”

Known as Big Shiz, Daniels, New Jersey native, worked closely with acclaimed producer/songwriter Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and was the pen behind some of the biggest hits from the 1990s and early 2000s.

The bottom line is that LaShawn Daniels, of course, wrote or co-wrote smashes such as Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine,” Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name,” Lady Gaga’s “Telephone,” and Michael Jackson’s “You Rock My World.”

Daniels’ career spanned over two decades. Some of the artists he worked with included Whitney Houston, Jennifer Lopez, Brandy Norwood, Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, George Michael, the Spice Girls, 50 Cent, and Tamar Braxton. He even won a Grammy in 2000 for Destiny Child’s “Say My Name.”

Naturally, when someone as gifted as Daniels passes, social media is flooded with condolences for the family. Here’s a sprinkling of what’s being shared:

“The entire music community is feeling the loss of one of the greatest to ever do it,” tweeted Kirk Franklin.

“We was supposed go crazy next week,” said Kehlani.

“Appreciate you for f*ckin’ with me OG… Your legacy will never be forgotten!”
